Doggy Duds opened it's doors in January, 1998. We began producing dog costumes when it became known that local pet owners were unable to purchase Mardi Gras outfits for our annual Krewe of Barkus Parade here in Lake Charles, Louisiana. So with the comfort of the pet in mind, we created costumes that any K-9 would be proud to wear.
As a market test, we started selling our costumes at a local pet store. They decided to sponsor a "Doggy Fashion Show" complete with TV and newspaper reporters on hand. The store was quickly out of stock and we were on our way!Since then, we have expanded our lines considerably, and now make costumes for everyday wear, special occasions and holidays. Of course, if none of our costumes strike your pet's fancy, we are always happy to take custom orders!Please check in with us often as we are constantly adding new costumes to our collection. All of our costumes are hand made in America, from quality, light weight materials.
